SUMMARY:SPAB Dorset Regional Group Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Peter Brachi\, the current temporary Chairman of the group invites Members in Dorset (and surrounding areas) to Coombe Keynes for a special meeting\, which will be centred in the Church of the Holy rood.  \n\n\n\nThe day will include a talk about the church and the Trust and a walkabout in the village to learn its history and development and experience it’s character\, focusing on the way local geology has influenced the character of its historic buildings. \n\n\n\nProgramme:11am – Meet at Holy Rood Church for refreshments and discussion  12pm – Talk about the church and the establishment\, achievement and ambitions of the Coombe Keynes Trust  1pm – Buffet lunch 2pm – Introduction to the history of the village and local geology\, followed by a short walk to see the village and look at one or two of the older buildings   \n\n\n\nIt may be that these elements of the day will merge together to some extent; and it is imagined that the meeting will fizzle out naturally during the afternoon. \n\n\n\nIf you would like to attend for the whole day\, please reserve your spot through the SPAB website (see below). Alternatively\, trust members and friends are encouraged to come along at 2pm and enjoy the walk for free.

DESCRIPTION:We’re delighted to be taking part in Purbeck Art Weeks this year. Local artist Kimberley Day has been invited to put on an exhibition in the church. SUMMARY:Purbeck Art Weeks - Free Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Join us to see a selection of landscape works by Kimberley Day in the beautiful setting of Coombe Keynes Church. \n\n\n\nKim’s work is both a celebration of the Dorset landscape but also an exploration of the human condition – the constant search for meaning\, which seems almost always over the next horizon. Through her work she tries to capture that innate curiosity and desire to make clear what evades us. Her painting is both a literal interpretation of the Dorset landscape but also an expression of feeling through mark making\, composition and colour – as an attempt to capture both our internal and external landscapes. Ever changing\, shifting and surprising us. \n\n\n\nKim will be on hand in the church every day\, working on her paintings. \n\n\n\nTea and coffee will be available.
